Need advice on my sump and filtration for lionfish

I am Getting my first ever fish tank. Display (1400*990*850) is going to be ordered and sump was "donated" to me by friend of a friend. Previous owner used it as sump as well where he kept deep sand bed with sea horses. My concern now is if sump suitable for my purposes. I want to keep lion fish with corals plus other suitable livestock. I can't find any good info on what type of filtration needed for lion fish(messy eater as I heard), thus I cannot understand if my sump can do the job. And if not, how do I need to modify it? I will be buying skimmer, cooler, heater, return pump. Am I missing something? Do I need to add another section into sump?
