Need help on Refugium VS LR Sump design

Hi Guys,

I decided to expand from 30"x16"x18" tank to same tank with sump. However, I am not sure between Refugium VS Live Rock Sump. I want to ask:

1. Which direction I should go for this small tank? Refugium or Live Rock sump?
2. Is refugium difficult to maintain?
3. I really want to go with Refugium, if I want to go this path. Is my drawing good to go? Any error? I'll DIY myself tomorrow.
