Need help starting my cycle?

I'm not really sure about starting my cycle, I want to do a fishless cycle and would like to do it without live rock. I have dry rock in my tank now and a 4 inch deep sand bed also have some live sand in the refugium. I have everything runnin and was gonna start dosing my tank with Kent purple somethin to help with the purple coraline algae growth. My light is coming tomorrow. I guess I'm just wondering what is my next step? Please help!!!!!!!!!1
