I see you got a decent bit of room left. Are you gonna be placing the skimmer outside the sump or installing any reactors?

Id say in that size system you may see .5 degrees change from the one return pump but they begin adding up when considering powerheads skimmer Uv and anything else. Imo external is the way to go. If I had the room in my stand that's what I would have done. External return, skimmer, and reactors leaving as much room as possible for my fuge

This time I made extra room my 55 was real tight getting everything in it so this time I figured sump room into the stand

On my 75 I'm using two. Originally it was two Rio 2500s, but one of them had an impeller failure and I replaced it with an Aqueon 3000 I found on clearance. If you are only plumbed for one return, I'd go with as big a pump as you overflow can handle. The Mag Drive line is very reliable, and I've heard good things about Eheim and Quiet Ones as well.

If your think external go with little giant. Internal mag 7 or 9.5 I'm in Florida too I'm running a mag 9.5 temp is around 78 without fans which I might add later.

I would, since you already know that the pump matches the overflow. I run 2 Quiet one 4000's on my 180, this tank has been up for 1 1/2+ years, as an upgrade, with no pump issues whatsoever. Knock on wood
