new powerhead questions

i just got my new powerheads today!!! woo hoo!!! i got two aqua clear 50's. i like them a lot so far. anyways, my question is what do i do with the little piece of clear tubing that came with each one of them? are they for a protein skimmer or something? i don't have a skimmer yet because of being tight on money, but i should probably save the little pieces that i got with my powerheads, right?

Its a venturi adaptor or something(yeah, skimmer thing). Makes the powerhead put bubbles in the water or not depending on how you adjust it. Either way, I've never added one while just using the powerhead for its flow, not needed.

Right, not really needed in SW, since they don't do anything for pH.....
