New QT tank w/ high nitrates

Hey people, got another question. I just recently set up an old 10 gal. I had laying around, as a QT tank. I'm suppose to be receiving a shimpment of lr from lr.com on the 22nd that the tank needs to be ready for. Nothing is in it right now, not even substrate.

How big of a water change should I perform on it to bring the nitrates down?

Has anyone had luck with Nutrafin Cycle?

For a qt tank, I wouldn't worry about nitrates too much. Just keep an eye on ammonia and nitrite.
Water changes are what you use to keep these levels down.
