Yeah I think it's fine. Just gets expensive. Is it in 5 gallon jugs?

You can do anything you want. My rule #1 for anybody doing anything, is research. Rule #2 is patience. Rule #3 is ask as many questions as possible. Be a sponge and soak up everything you can !!!!

It's in 4.4 gallon jugs. I would need 3 for my 10 gallon. And if I have well water could I use that for top off or should I use bought distilled water

I would lean towards the distilled, well test results change frequently, even a heavy rain can effect them. In a small system it's too big a risk factor, jimo

Ok thanks for all you guys help!! One last question???😁 if I use the par38 should I use a glass hood of not? I would like to have one. Because my little cousins have a habit of sticking their hands in my tanks!!!

That's actually a pretty valid point you have Red. Makes more sense about the rainfall also due to the possibilities of any leaching from lawn frets and/or if you live in an area with snow and salt is used for road and driveways.

Any standard light socket, I use an architects lamp I got from Walmart for $6. Or one of the goosenecks, coralcompulsion and reefkoi both have them for $30
