New salt tank

Quick question. I have had reef tanks in the past that I never thought of doing this. I'm setting up a 60 fish only tank while tearing down one of my African cichlid tanks. Was wondering if I could use my well established wet/dry filter for a saltwater tank. Is the bacteria the same salt or fresh?

Bactera is different. You will have the same cycle time if you clean and sanatize the tank or if you drain the tank and add fresh freshwater and mix the salt.
