new tank ..test questions

I have a 30 gallon tank. 25lbs Live rock. 15 lbs of live sand. been up and running for a week now and did some test. wanted to ask if everything looks good so far. ph.8.0 ammonia 0.25 ppm nitrite is 20 ppm . No fish in tank and I didnt use a shrimp to start cycle just the live rock. thanks

Looks good. You probably have another week or two to complete the cycle. Be sure to wait till amm and nitrite are both at 0 then do a large water change before you start stocking it. Good luck

Nitrites seem a little high for day 7, but no fish in the tank shouldn't be a problem...
