Newbie question

I just added an o clown and a feather duster to my tank today. The clown took a while to come out of his corner but is finally asserting itself towards the two yellow tail damsels that had him cornered. I have no clue about dusters and have noticed a white stringy substance floating in the water every once in a while. Do feather dusters secrete this similar to the sea cucumber or am I on glue? I have never noticed this before and only started to sice i've added the clown and the duster.

TIA
Ian

Hawaiian Feather Dusters are known to reproduce in the aquarium I have not witnessed this first hand, just read about it... I have a bunch of the small white ones from the Gulf, and they seem to spawn by secreting little balls of sperm or something like it out into the water column... then in about 10 to 20 days, I start seeing new ones pop up where they weren't before...

They also expell their waste through the mouth...

The damsels seem to have left the clown alone but he just hangs out in the corner. I am hoping that he just has to get used to his new surroundings. I wish he would come out more often 'cause he looks so cool.

Had to take the damsels back to the lfs. Back to the drawing board. I have to find some peaceful fish to live together.
