We are just getting started with our 90 gallon tank. Yesterday we put water in just to be sure the overflows and returns didn't leak. The 2 overflows are drilled in the bottom back corners of the tank, bulkheads are 1 1/2 inches with 1 1/4 inch overflow pipes. We are getting quite a bit of noise from these overflow. Have tried several things to quite them but nothing seems to help. We are trying to trouble shoot these things before we have everything all set to go.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Do a search on DURSO standpipe if your tank did not come with one.
How far down is the water level in the overflow box?

You can always try the 'cup' trick too. Put a piece of airline through a plastic cup bottom. Place the cup over the overflow pipe with the airline sticking above the tank. You will need to secure the airline to keep the cup in place. You will also need to adjust the length of the airline to get the right combination so it is quiet.
