What are the effects of having a large noise source near a tank? I have a somewhat large surround system for my computer. The tank is not on the desk, but on a stand next to it, and the subwoofer is located about 6 inches form the base of the tank stand. I do not notice any deflection of the water surface with teh music on, and cannot feel any vibrations on the tank galss or the top of the stand, but do notice vibrationsi n teh stand's door which is unsecured (missing the magnet piece)

It sounds like you should be good to go. Think about the fist, storms, ocean crashing down. I would look to see if they all hide, while the noise is going on. I would imagine, if they are hiding, they may not like it....

The sound waves generated from your sound system doesn't even come close to the sound from most ph. I'm amazed fish can sleep with all that noise but it doesn't seem to faze them at all.
