ok im sorry if this has been answered before :-( *sry admins* however i am in the midst of setting up a saltwater and want to have good light...i have a 46gal and it has only 1 flourencent bulb..it came with a light but im not sure what kind...i am just running your basic Salt Water tank with fishies..no reef..what kinda light should i get? i see some like 18k or higher...but do you think the "factory" one hsould be good? here is a pic of whats goin on so far...

For fish only the type of lighting isn't important. As long as you can see your fish, you're fine.

You could do a set of VHO bulbs or a set fo PC florecents. The factory one is probably a single bulb normal output bulb. Thats gonna give you enough light to see the fish's but tahts about it.
