Hello everyone!

Last Sunday, I purchased a Nuvo 16 gallon.

This is my first salt water tank.

My question...Last night I purchased a nano skimmer and installed it. It's an AquaEuro Nano Protein Skimmer. The instructions did not show how to place it in the tank, so I used YouTube vids and did my best.

This morning I woke up and the collection cup was half full of water...I'm wondering if that is correct or if I need to change something? I will post pictures below.

Any help is welcome!

Thank you in advance!

Was it just straight clear water? If so you will need to dial the skimmer down. Being a brand new tank and new skimmer it will need to break in and probably won't pull much while the tank cycles.

It looked like just regular water yes. No foam or anything.

Ok. There should be a knob that adjusts the water level in the skimmer right? Turn the skimmer down so the bubbles are forming right under the collection cup. Then you just wait for it to break in. This usually takes a week or two. Then it should start producing foam

On the water output the is an adjustment for water flow...there is also a adjustment on the air pump tube...? Sorry if I sound kind of stupid. Just new to the skimmer. Thanks.

You will want to adjust the water flow one to where the bubbles are forming in the neck right at the base of the collection cup. Once it starts creating foam you can adjust it to skim how you like

Okay, I think I got it. Lol. Thanks so much!

Also, is it okay to place the heater in the center column in the back?

It should be just shut it off during wc so it doesn't get dry and break.

Okay update...found out that the LFS sold me the incorrect PS. So, they swapped it out for the PS made specifically for the Nuvo 16. It's working much better. Thanks again.
