OT tank

Ok so I had a complete tank wipe out about a week ago. I am never going to make the mistake of not having a QT again. I need some help setting one up. Do i need to cycle it just like my DT? What all should be in it (sand,LR) or nothing?

By OT do you mean QT like quarantine tank? I cycled mine, but most just put in water and a filter sponge that they had in their tank. Your fish had marine velvet right(saw this in another post I believe)? Mr.Saltwatertank did too and he emptied out everything to prevent this disease from happening. Might want to see what he did.
