percula clowns

hi. cycled my tank have 8 hermit crabs now had 10. got 2 percula clowns 1 false and one true. the true died 1 week after buying it. it had a long string of poop behind it the night before it died. it looked like a hair at the end and white towards the fish. was this a bacterial infection? no real warning. saw that the night before it was eating fine and the next morning dead. any ideas on this?

True clown are not as hardy as falsh percula. Check water parameter. How long had you cycled your fish tank? Is there any LR in your tank? Are they cured?

i did have the water checked and everything was fine. no live rock. tank had just been cycled and had water tested before i bought the perculas. i did do a water change the friday before it died. it died on monday. what about the stringy poop stuff? i think i will stick to false perculas from now on.

dont give up on the true perculas yet, i have 2 and there doing great.
