Phosphate media reactor vs algae scrubber

Hi guys, I'm thinking about building a diy reactor or scrubber, I have looked into both and would like people's opinion on what they prefer and how well these equipment work, I'm using a reactor with bio pearls atm so what would be best to use, both are so easy and cheap to make, I had my heart set on a reactor but I love to build so was thinking about chucking in a scrubber to. To much? Or a super clean tank? Cheers

If I was going to DIY anything onto my system right now it would be an algae turf scrubber. They provide great results.
