Powerhead Placement

Assuming the use of two PH's, is there a a general configuration that works well in small tanks? Maybe just one on each side wall pointing towards the middle?

Also, are PH's or siphons recommended for water changes?

I use a PH for putting water into a tank, and a bucket to get it out. In most small tank, two PHs pointing towards the front creates good flow, and is not overflow for more corals.
