Protein skimmer question.

This may be a dumb question but I am still very new SW. My protein skimmer isn't filling the overflow cup at the top. I don't know any of the details on the skimmer it came with the sump. My tanks only been up and running for a week? Is this normal?

Is there away to adjust the flow in to the skimmer? Have you considered posting a picture to see if anyone could identify the skimmer

By "not filling the cup at the top" do you mean not at all or not very fast?
