Purple Nudi Branch suicide

My purple Nudi got stuck to the intake on one of my filters tonight. I'm disassembled the filter and found that parts of him were sucked into a few of the slots and then expanded. Any ideas on how to get him out of there?

I forgot to add that he is still alive.

If you think the nudie has a chance...I would carefully cut the pieces of the strainer that have him trapped. Alternatively...you can possibly take it off and leave it sitting on the bottom of the tank..it will eventually work it's way out on it's own, without the suction from the filter.
