I just read the quarantine and acclimation sticky posts and then went back and read the quarantine post again. And guess what? I have another newbie clarification question, Do you always quarantine a new fish for 3 weeks prior to transfering to your display tank ?

VT

You should, unless of course, you have a lfs like mine. I know the store owner and he quarintines every thing i order for a month prior to letting me take it home. it rules.

Well, If there is a LFS like that around here I havn't found it yet.
One more quick question, If there are no noticable ailments what if anything should I preventitivly treat for while in quarantine?

Thanks for the help Mike

I dont think you are treating the new fish. you are just making sure he is healthy. You cant always see the ailment. I think the advisors could better explain the importance of initial quarintine . So go for it guys.
