My main question invloves using wood to support my DIY overlow conrainer on the inside of my tank. If I do it the wood will be partally in the water. Is there a safe wood to use? A cirtin type to buy? Also I have heard roumers of people using wood in their saltwater display tanks as base and just for show. Is this true? If so what type of wood do you use for this?

i agree, pvc would be better. if you're set on wood though, make sure its a hard wood that is seasoned. pine would release sap, as would alot of other "soft woods"... oak would be the best bet there, but it's still prone to rot.
