Raising salinity for Green Spotted Puffer.

I would like to bring my GSP up to full marine. I've read a bunch of articles on how to do it and get a varying degree of explanations. So i wanted to throw the questions i have out to the masses.

1. How much do you raise the SG over a given period of time, without shocking the current beneficial bacteria i have already established?

2. At what salinity can i start adding base and live rock?

3. Off topic...do i need any special lights for live rock/coralline algae?

Thanks a bunch!

no no special light for coralline algae, but the more light the faster it grows.

as for hwo to increase the salinity, i would just top up the evaporation with 1.025sg water. so rather then using freshwater just top it up with saltwater and slowly bring the salinity up to normal levels.

i wouldn't begin to start to add live rock untill the SG is about 1.023. although it will grow when its lower its just not needed right away
