Raw shrimp cycle

I added 4 shrimp to my 60 gal last night and the water is slightly cloudy this morning (expected)..... But am I supposed to leave that shrimp in there the entire cycle or can I replace them every week or so or what?

If your doing raw shrimp you have to let them decompose for a while before it let's off ammonia . Put the shrimp in a mesh media bag if you haven't allready because it will break apart and go all over your tank .

Shrimp needs to stay in. Then shrimp rotting will feed your bacteria to complete the cycle. Media bag is great idea. I didn't do that and shrimp got pretty nasty. After week or so test ammonia should have a reading.
