Reactor leak?

I was doing a water change tonight and noticed that the rowaphos reactor contained bright orange water!! What is that about? There are odd bits around the tank. I've taken it apart, cleaned it and put new media in. Any ideas what's gone on there? My filter sock is almost glowing orange

Sounds like the media clumped up and it backed up...the orange is all GFO filled water. The reactor being filled like that means it wasn't flowing properly and the filter sock being full is full of GFO.

I have a bubble magus reactor and the foams bet clogged really easily, plus the flow rate control is poor. New reactor for me I think! Can I still wash the filter sock with the rest of them? It's gone a rusty orange colour?

Color of the sock doesn't matter. Just rinse it real well. I throw mine through the washing machine w/ some bleach.
