Red ash???

Hi everyone

Just a quick one, all the dull brown ash has all gone from my sand and rock but in its place now is this red stuff. Spreading fast on rock and sand just like the brown stuff.

That is cyanobacteria.

Thought it was but after reading. The id guide on this forum I was unsure as mine is more of an ash than a jel. Still now I know I will work at bedding rid of it.

It'll get that way. If you don't address it now you will have an awful mess on your hands. Syphon out what you can with airline tubing, water changes, and don't feed so much.
