I've been using instant ocean since I started the hobby. Is there a better or cheaper salt in anyone's opinion? If I'm setting up a reef tank do I need to use reef salt or just continue using the instant ocean? I don't have many corals but plan on adding as many as I can afford in the future.

Reef salt would be better because it has better amounts of calcium, iodide, strontium, and magnesium (all things corals need). I have found its sometimes cheaper to buy in bulk from amazon

I've been using IO for a while, but now adding lots of corals has cause my alk and mg to be on the low end very shortly after my pwc. I'm switching to Reef Crystals as we speak to avoid any buffers or dosing hopefully.
