Sand question.

I won't get into the details, but I caused a little bit of a sandstorm & as much as I tried to avoid it, it still happened.

I have read both of the following, just would like to know what has worked better for everyone.

1- turn everything off & let the sand settle
2- leave the filter going with carbon to help clear it.

Yes, I know I should have cleaned the sand better. Please don't remind me.

Since I cannot go back in time and rinse it more thoroughly, what should I do?

There is live rock in the tank, I just cannot see anything to aquascape. No fish, etc.

Just let it sit, I would shut off the filters so you don't clog them. It will clear up in about 48hours

Thanks
I did turn it off and rise everything in the filter, hopefully it will help things settle.

That seemed to help some, still cloudy, my thoughts now are about it kicking back up when I go to aquascape.
Any thoughts?
Should I do a partial water change this early in the set up?
