sand sifting crabs

what are they? what do they do? are they good for anything? what does their job better? how big do they get?

never heard of any sand sifting crabs that can live in reef tanks. they are colder water creatures. we have them here at the jersey shore.

Well, whenever i catch them on the west coast they are generally smaller (pinky nail size). Every so often youll get a sucker that is like the size of the top half of your thumb. They are really digging machines, and i imagine they need a DSB.
