So here i go. Got this tank from a friend. Took me about 3 months to get all the stuff together. 65gal reef ready tank, 2 t5 Ho with actinic. 2 large power heads. About 70 to 80 lb of fine live sand.
I have only out half the sand in as of yet waiting to get my hands on some base rock the I will add the sand that's left

Not sure yet. I would like to do some small schooling fish. Fire fish cromis cardinals maby. I have a 30gal reef that is doing good I was thinking of bring it over

Just found a guy on Craigslist selling 50lbs of base rock not sure if I want that much base rock what do yall think

if it's nice porous rock, i would buy it. hitch hikers are over-rated and in many cases, it's better to add the ones you like and leave out the ones you don't. you don't have that privilege with live rock.

Ya I know I can only get a little at a time do to funds. The stuff that's in the was supposed to be a lot more when I bought it from the guy but this is what I got

The big one in the back bottom kind of looks like it and is heavy to and that's what I got from Craigslist

I think you need more rock before you put livestock in. Live rock is the necessary surface area for bacteria to grow to sustain the tank.
At least keep the stocking very low until you get more rock.

I got a question if you don't mind. My tank makes this sound like it filled up in the overflow box and the releases it all at once and makes a gurgling sound pretty loud any ideas

Do you have a durso standpipe? If there is a hole in the top of the cap on the pipe, you can run a piece of airline tubing down that and adjust it up and down until you find the sweet spot. That usually makes it quiet.

Here are some updates on my tank everything is going good. Realy want to know what yall think thanks. Oh ya and there is a pic of one of my clown fish swimming in some xenia on a urchins head lol.
