skimmers and aqua pods

i have a 24g aqua pod and its a total enclosed system. i dont think i can fit a skimmer in my tank. i have 36lbs of live rock as my only filter and i think i need a skimmer here real soon.what can i do?
i am thinking of ditching the aqua pod and geting a cheap 30g and hangs a refugum on the back. what do u think?
