I know right? I've read about people training them with little feeding stations of mysis and still not being able to do it. Mine just decides he likes to chase them down like the other fish. So odd. Will still be putting pods into the tank though.

So, quite update. Spent some time in the tank today. It is getting way too full. The symphodium is getting massive. I realize this after I saw some in the divers den for over 80 bucks that was much smaller than mine! Fragged it real quick onto the old flowerpot skeleton I kept in the back of the tank, it should hook onto that really easily.
Still many birds nest frags with the mother colony becoming straight massive. I'm wondering if I should trim the dead bottom branches off, but fearful I'd break whatever is supporting it by accident, any advice on this?
I also had to clean out the fuge, which is what started me fiddling to begin with. The red bushy algae that continues to grow had almost overgrown the whole section. Cleaned it out and ready to do it again in a week.

I would think if cut carefully with a Deemel or similar tool it would be fine to cut the dead skeleton off the Biirdsnest. Probably okay even to use a side cutter unless its too thick & you have to really squeeze hard. At least that's when I start launching pieces lol.

I don't think it'd be that hard...I accidentally break pieces off all the time!

Going to be my bone sheers that came in my frag kit. But the dead stuff is thin and brittle. Just don't want to hurt the base.

I pulled it out, but didn't have the heart to trim it. It is getting so big.

Yeah I need someone like you near me then. I had the shears out with it too. Just put it back and broke off some tips...like normal.

Well, been 2 weeks since I said anything. Keeping up with maintenence and that is about it. 60 hours weeks and then this week had to work my days off. So instead of pics, I posted a video. You can see the awful red algae all over my pumps and it on the rocks, the cool coraline growth, and the corals of course.
