This is our tank. We got it about 2 months ago. We think everything is going pretty well. Here is our readings yesterday.
PH 8.4 always seems to stay there
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20
Amonia .25

We do a 10 gallon water change every Saturday. Feed once a day. I believe it is 90 gallon. We have a sump and media bag underneath.
We have these two black Ballast boxes... the Hallide light that they run will not stay on they come in then go off. One of the black boxes is brand new.
We have a yellow tang
hippo tang
fire tail angel
Japanese angel fish
3 athias
lots of snails
green crab
a brittle star

these have been in this table for 2 years together.

I just need some help on how to make it better.
The white on the overflow will not come off and I hate it.

Thank you in advance! I would love feedback on how to make this tank better!

Oh and if anybody knows what kind of corals are in there that would be great! I have no idea what it all is!

Im concerned that you have ammonia showing up. Did you/how did you cycle the tank? Im on my phone at the vet, so ill identify corals later...though second pic looks like a tongue coral. Keep up with the water changes, id do larger changes to keep the ammonia down.

I just tested the water again and I am going to say its at 0 for Ammonia. I posted the picture of the test. What about the Nitrate at 20 is that really high?

You don't want your nitrates going higher than 20. I'd do a water change to bring it down.

I can tell I was on my phone earlier, that isn't a tongue. Looks more like a nem.
The orange guys ontop of your tank are mushroom leathers. Brownish guy on the left side is a finger leather. To the right of him is a mushroom covered rock. Then lots and lots of zoas. Another finger leather and a rock covered in green star polyps.

I dont know about the one coral on the left above the finger leather. Can't see it.

In terms of your sump, if you keep running into nitrate issues you might want to look into a fuge setup to keep them down. Throw some cheato and a cheap light and you are good to go.

Overall it looks like a nice setup. There is alot of coraline algae, and that is great. I'm impressed with your mushroom leathers. I was never able to get mine to do that well. Is it under PC or small T5HOs for your lighting?

Also, test your ammonia again tomorrow. Hopefully that ammonia level was just a false positive.

How about the green and purple thing in the corner. It is all purple then when the lights come on it gets green and bushy. I have no idea on the lights. If you can see in the picture the middle lights are off. I am going to get new bulbs info can figure out how to get them. Thanks for your help!

+??, good call Sniper.
Green and purple are the Green Star Polyps, already mentioned, and I think the Nem looks like a Sebae. Seeing all the Leathers, I would bet that your larger ones are shedding ears. I have some that do this all the time.
Good luck with the tank, very nice, looks a few years old.

Make sure the new saltwater salinity, ph and temp is same. Than do 40% water change every 4 days. Cut back on feeding .
How long do I have the light on for? Do about 6 hours. Otherwise nitrates will cause algae.
Test 2 days after the water change and track results. That's what I am doing now. Check out my build for more.
