Spitting out food

My fish eat the mysis and keep it in their mouth for a few seconds then they spit it out any idea of what the problem could be I purchased the mysis towards the end of december

Too big for their mouths. I have a fairy wrasse that does this until he finds smaller pieces or is able to break larger ones apart.

I chop/dice mine up for my small fish. I find there's less waste that way
