Sump

I finally upgraded from a 55 gallon to a 75. I find it hard to believe that the sump evaporates almost a gallon of water a day. Is that correct? I'm new to a sump, so am I doing something wrong?

Is your tank a 55 gall? Mine evaporates just about the same everyday

Do you have an auto top off they are magic. I put 5 gallons in mine a week in my 60 gal tank.

I go through about 7-8 gallons a week on my 90 with a 55g sump.

Makes sense my sump is 20 gal. I do run my tank top less.

Do you use an auto top off? If not I highly recommend investing in one. There are many kinds and range in price. Personally I use a dual float system from autotopoff.com, not the prettiest and most high tech but it's on my sump so appearance isn't an issue and it works which is the main thing. If you do run an ATO then disregard.
