I have a cheap HOB filter I was going to use to run carbon and phosphate remover when needed. Should I do that or could I put the media in the air trap section of my sump since the water flows through there?
Also it's been a while since I've cycled a tank but how long is the nitrite spike? I've added ammonia and it's gone by the next day by my nitrites stay like 2.0 or higher :/
