Sump question

Hello my local fish store has a big sale. I was able to get a asm g3 skimmer for 100 bucks. They have a eshopps 200 sump for 50 but the skimmer just doesn’t fit. So I was wondering if I could trim the plastic where the sponge goes just to make the skimmer fit

I wouldn’t do such a thing. If they are having a sale pick up a small aquarium and you can make it to where you need.

Okay thanks wasn’t sure if that was possible or just buy like a 30 long
