Would there be an issue using tap water just on the initial fill of a tank and then using ro/di on going?

I did that with my 29 gallon but made sure I did a 100% WC after the tank was cycled. The only bad thing about tap is you have to make sure there's no copper, it could come in with nitrates already Ect. Just bad things. So make sure to replace it all after the cycle and you should be fine.

Even the initial fill with tap can cause issues with algae. Since everyone has different water, it is hit or miss. Some tap is ok, in my case I burn through even ro/di resin in a very short period of time with how bad my water is. It can work, just not suggested.
