What size pump to get

I I plan to get a 80/90 gla tank and I have a Maxi Reef wet/dry sump and it will be under the tank...maybe about 3-4ft...what size pump should I get. Was wanting to get a Mag pump....should I go with a larger one and just put a valve to adjust the flow??

Go with a mag 9.5. If you have a 1" drain you can flow about 650-700 GPH thorugh it. Witht head and other restrictions a mag 9 will put you right in that target GPH.

I'll second that ...running approx 1400 GPH in a 110 gallon but have added powerheads for more waterflow for coraline algae. good luck -- you'll enjoy your system
