why do we need both a chiller and a heater???

We just bought every thing we need for a marine tank set up, have just put in the sand.. just a quick question why do we need both a chiller and a heater???

You dont need a heater if you have a chiller or vise versa.

hmm!!! we paid $800 for the chiller... and got 2 heaters as well thats what they said we needed.... any idea why??

Two heaters is genrally recommended because if one breaks, you have a backup.

IMO, a chiller isn't needed unless you have lights that heat up the tank to a great amount, or you live in a hot climate without air conditioning. I personally don't have a chiller running in any of my tanks.

we have 2 heaters and a massive chiller haha so confused
