10 gallon planted tank

Have had a ten gallon in my closet so I am finally use it.

I want to do a planted tank with shrimp and some fish. I want to to be a underwater jungle.

I need some stocking suggestions, I have a pair or sparkling gourami in my 20 gallon that I will be willing to move over.

A school of galaxy reabsorb will work. You could do red cherry shrimp as well. And maybe some Pygmy Cories

Thank you an I was wondering two things

1) will the corys eat shrimp
And
2) will it be ok to set my tank up on my bookshelf?
