2 x 75gal tanks

I am a newbie here. I was handed down 2 empty tanks by a relative who doesnt keep fish anymore. There is also this 1.5 feet long sump filter that went with it, with disorganized contents in the inside. Idk if I should use that filter or an existing pond canister filter with 8000 liters per hour capacity. What fish do you guys recommend? Also I was told that without the proper chemicals, must let the water settle for a few days before adding fish?

Thanks!

I'd go with the sump if it and the pump is in decent condition. You need to test your water or have someone test it to see if there is chlorine or chloramines in it and the pH, hardness, ammonia levels. Then you can determine what kind of fish you want.

I'm guessing you'll probably have to cycle your tank before you add fish. Look up nitrification cycle in an aquarium.
