28g brackish puffer tank - JBJ Nano cube

Hello,

I am picking up a 28g JBJ nano cube intermediate LED w/ stand and most of a bucket of salt within the next few weeks.

Yesterday on Amazon I think I ordered everything I'll need.. (I have a 27g cube currently, so I already have most test kits, but ran low on ammonia and didn't have a gh/kh test kit.)

I ordered:
Sponge filter (for snail breeding tank) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056XVF82
250g seachem safe Amazon.com : Safe, 250 g / 8.8 oz : Aquarium Treatments : Pet Supplies
measuring spoons for seachem safe Amazon.com: Norpro 3080 Mini Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons, Set includes ( tad, dash, pinch, smidgen and a drop ): Measuring Cups: Kitchen & Dining
5" net and 3" net (all I have now is a 2" net) Amazon.com : Tetra 77841 Whisper SoftNet Nylon Net, 5-Inch : Aquarium Nets : Pet Supplies
refractometer (cheap one but it has good reviews) Automatic Temperature Compensation Sea Water Salinity Refractometer for Aquarium, 0% - 10% & 1.0 to 1.070 S.G. DUAL SCALE Hydrometer By AdeAdvancedOptics: Science Lab Refractometers: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
100w Eheim heater http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003SNU1I2
Digital thermometer Amazon.com : CNZ Digital LCD Thermometer for Aquarium Fish Tank Vivarium Reptile Terrarium : Pet Supplies
4x small airstones Amazon.com : JW Pet Company 1-Inch Aircore Sand Airstone Aquarium Accessory, 4-Pack : Aquarium Air Pump Accessories : Pet Supplies
GH and KH test kit Amazon.com : API GH and KH Test Kit : Aquarium Test Kits : Pet Supplies
2L Seachem Matrix http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002A5VIY
50w Eheim heater Amazon.com : EHEIM Jager Aquarium Thermostat Heater 50W : Pet Supplies
Ammonia test kit http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002566TC

I'm hoping I didn't miss anything!

Planning on keeping 2 figure 8 puffers. Any other supplies I need to purchase? Anything I should know?

Thanks a ton!

Got my package today. Put the heater and sponge filter in my snail tank.

The seachem matrix was a rip-off, I recieved a tub of rocks not seachem matrix. It weighed over double what the tub said, and the seal was missing. A replacement from Amazon should be here tomorrow.

Anybody have some thoughts on anything?

Wow this seachem safe is REALLY concentrated!!!

1tsp is good for 1,000gal !!!!
so 1/40tsp for 25g, I'm using a 1/32tsp measuring spoon for my 27g cube.

Matrix does look like rocks... All the pores are too small to be seen.

They're supposed to all be the same color right? Plus there were black rocks in there.
