Hi all,

I'm a newbie (no experience whatsoever) and wanted to ask if a 29-gallon tank can safely & comfortably house 2 lionhead goldfish? Also, how often would you recommend water changes? I have not bought any fish yet. I am looking at lionhead, lionchus, or ranchus. Would prefer two.

I bought a 29-gallon tank and an Aquaclear 110g power filter.

Thank you!

Two of them is completely fine, and do normal water changes 10% weekly and if that’s not enough just increase the amount you take out [emoji106]. Best of luck and have fun!

I'd say 29 gallons is on the small side for fish that get to six inches. I suggest smaller fish or a bigger tank. And I'd do at least 25% water changes weekly.

Thanks! I decided to actually upgrade to a 40 gallon to be on the safe side! Hopefully that’s big enough for two!
