Hello everyone. Bought a 45 gallon tank the other day. It's been around ten years since I've had a tank. I plan on doing a fresh community. I'm open to suggestions on heaters, filters, and other item I'll need. I have smaller river rock.

I purchased a aqueous quiet flow 55/75. Any good?
I need a heater. 150 or 200 watt?
I would like to plant real plants. Where to buy and what kind?

I asked the guy about underground/gravel filter and he looked at me funny. Lol

Any other suggestions, let me know.

I wouldn't recommend under gravel filters, and as far as real plants go you will have to look into lighting, CO2, and a substrate suitable for plants. What are you wanting as far as livestock?

Aqueon Pro 200W heater

Aquaclear 70 HOB filter

Lighting will be your most important purchase for plants.

My stocking list recommendation:

12 neon tetras
6 furcata/forktail rainbowfish
2 pearl gouramis
6 peppered corydoras
4 tiger nerite snails

There are many other options for stocking but if I were you I would do this

Here are a couple of pics

How would this led be for plants, etc. current usa satellite 6500k White led

With a 45 you could keep angelfish. Not exactly community, but they would look beautiful as well. If you are going with community for sure I would definitely recommend getting some sort of cory cat. They are incredible fish and never seen to be still for long.
