Hey

I am very new to the hobby and have a pretty new tank that's in the process of cycling . Currently in another smaller tank I have 6 Tiger Barbs. The tank size is 250 litres or 65 gallon but with the driftwood and plants would likely be closer to 60 or 55.

I have decided I like South American Cichlids and am thinking of getting some Firemouths. I am just looking for some advice on stocking the tank.

My plan was to get a pair of Firemouths (starting as juveniles)
But I would like to keep my Tiger Barbs in there and possibly get some more .

How many Tiger Barbs would be a good number to add plus my 6.
Also would I be able to fit another pair of Cichlids the same size as my Firemouths or should I leave it at that or change my option to one firemouth and one other or 3 different kinds?. I was thinking Blue Acara or Red Forest Jewels (My local stocks both and said they would work). If I cant fit anymore larger cichlids what other fish could I keep , are corys a bad idea ?

As you can see I'm very undecided and just looking for advice. I am a beginner so please don't suggest anything to hard to keep .

Cheers
