Question 75 gallon help -- filter choice

Ok so my father gave me his 75 gallon tank setup. It needs new parts.... what kind of filter do I get? Biowheel? Canister? Sump? He said the current pump is super loud. I want something nice and quiet too.

For a 75 gal, you can go with a 405 rather than the FX5 (in the Fluval line), unless you need to overfilter due to bioload or specific fish requirement.

Another good choice would be the Filstar XP series. Ehiems are good filters as well.

Eheims are excellent and quiet filters as well. This is what I use on my 60G, but I also use a BioWheel HOB as Backup & to break the water.
IMO you're good with Canisters from Eheim, Rena or Fluval.
All easy to maintain & Clean , and easy to prime.
If I were you, I'd check Craigslist and Jump on the first Super-Deal I would find.
