Algae Problem

Chinese algae eaters are awful aggressive fish that have a habit of sucking the eyes off of other fish. I would never recommend them. They also get to he 11 inches.

Oto cats are good but really need to be kept in a school of 4+.

I thought the CAE were the same as otto cats...any how correction, forget the chineese and go with ottos is what I meant.

I d recommend these little guys. It s called a 'Fishnet/Reticulated Flying Fox' Crossocheilus reticulatus
I have 3 in a 50g, they are peaceful, active & very serious about eating algae. When they turn into the light, they re a brilliant silver color. Really like them! Like Oto s too tho, best to put them into an established (6mos old) tank. Good luck, battling algae myself right now.

How long has the tank been set up? Is the lighting your using a blue light that makes glo fish glow? Using that lighting, if that is what you have can attribute to your algae issues. A picture of the algae would be very helpful.
