Ammonia

My friend has a 10 gallon tank with no fish just plants, we checked his water peremeters and his ammonia is 8 ( 0-0 ) are there any quick emergency ways to destroy ammonia

Large water changes are your best bet. There are chemicals you can add that will decrease it but water changes is the quickest way.

That (water changes), but eventually the plants will eat it too. If there's no fish, there's nothing in danger.

Can you provide more info about the problem? It doesn't sound like there is anything in the tank for it to hurt at the moment.
