I've tested my tap water for ammonia, it came out .25ppm. (I used API master kit) is there something I need to do for it? I am currently doing a fish in cycle on a new 10gallon, it's been 2 weeks.
Yes it will. But adding .25ppm ammonia with each water change isn't going to help your tank. It takes time to process, it isn't converted to nitrates instantly. And you need to condition your tap water before you add it to your tank anyway to remove chlorine and chloramine, so you might as well use Prime and take care of your ammonia too.
